About Avidin
Avidin is a homotetrameric glycoprotein found in egg whites. Due to its high affinity for biotin, avidin is widely used in diagnostics and immunoassays (ELISA).
Produced in an animal-free plant expression system, our recombinant avidin delivers the exceptional biotin-binding strength and reliability expected from traditional egg white-derived avidin, while eliminating the safety and regulatory challenges linked to animal-sourced materials.
By avoiding animal origin inputs, maize-derived recombinant avidin removes concerns about adventitious agents and supply chain variability, helping manufacturers meet the stringent quality and safety standards of diagnostics, biologics, and biopharmaceutical workflows.
